Must Haves for the Man Cave

If you’re thinking of setting up your own space to escape to, you’ll want to make that space as unique and individual to you as possible. Sometimes we all need to escape the noise and bustle of life to enjoy the things that help you relax and feel content. Whether you’re looking for a place to enjoy a quiet beer, to watch sports games uninterrupted, play video games or spend time with your mates, here are some of the must have items you’ll want for your man cave:

A 4K Ultra HD TV

Whether it’s movie, sports, gaming or all of the above that you enjoy, you should absolutely watch it on the best TV available. The best vibrant colours and crisp images will give you the most enjoyable viewing experience. If you’re going to have a man cave, then don’t settle for squinting at a tiny screen!

The Best Seating

To go with that awesome TV, you’re going to want some comfortable seating or what’s the point? Think luxurious leather executive chair, supersize armchair or plush sofa. If you’ll be inviting guests, make sure you have enough comfortable seating so not everyone is squashed onto one 2-seater sofa, for example. A great choice is the Eames Lounge Chair. Surround Sound

The TV and seating are still only part of the picture. For the ultimate in viewing and gaming experience, you’ll want a surround sound system for the clearest, crispest audio. If you’re not immersing yourself completely and feeling the walls shake with every on-screen explosion, then you’re man cave is more cave than man.

Gaming Console

You don’t need to be an avid gamer to enjoy the benefits of a PS4 or Xbox One. They are entertainment systems that mean you don’t need a separate DVD player, can access the internet and stream movies to your hearts content.

Beer Fridge

Whether you choose to install a proper bar or not, one essential for any man cave is a beer fridge. You can also use it to hide snacks from the rest of the family!

Pool Table

For the times when you have nothing to watch, a little side activity is ideal. A pool table will take up a lot of space, so this is only an option if you have the available room. They are great fun, whether practising alone or getting competitive with your mates.

Dart Board

This is a good option if you don’t have space for a pool table or add one to the wall even if you do have a pool table! There’ll be plenty to keep you entertained without the poor lighting and stale smoky atmosphere of the old-fashioned billiards hall.

Gym Equipment

If working out is your thing, then the man cave is the perfect place for setting up a mini gym. You don’t have to fill your man cave with large, bulky items taking up lots of floor space. Consider a treadmill or elliptical machine and a few weights.

Decorate the Walls

Don’t forget a little decoration goes a long way. Film fan? Sports enthusiast? Let your walls reflect your personality with posters, framed images or even sports shirts that you’ve collected.
